Research in immunology at National Institute of Immunology (NII)

The National Institute of Immunology (NII) invites applications for its Ph.D. programme, offering an exciting opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of immunology and related fields.

NII's Ph.D. programme provides a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in various interdisciplinary areas, including:

Eligibility criteria:

  • Master's degree (M.Sc., M.Tech., MBBS, M.Pharm., Integrated M.Sc.) in any science discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics).
  • Minimum marks:
    • General category: 60% aggregate in Senior Secondary (10+2), Bachelor's, and Master's degrees.
    • Reserved categories (OBC-NCL, SC/ST, PwD, EWS): 5% relaxation in each degree.
  • Candidates appearing for their qualifying exam in the current year can apply if they complete their coursework by July 2024 (provisional admission).

Selection process:

  • Two channels for selection:
    • Channel 1: Computer-based Entrance Examination (NII-2024-25M) on April 28, 2024.
    • Channel 2: Joint Graduate Entrance Examination in Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS-2024).
  • Shortlisted candidates for interviews will be announced on the NII website and notice board by May 6, 2024.
  • Online interviews will be held between June 4-6 and June 10-12, 2024.
  • Selected candidates will be enrolled for the Ph.D. programme at NII, affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
