The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with an Intellectual Disability ( NIEPID) is a registered society established in the year 1984 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The institute is an Apex body functioning for Training, Research and Surveys in the field of Intellectual Disability in the country.
The institute is headquartered in Secunderabad and has regional centres in Kolkata, Navi Mumbai and Noida.
