Govt. College of Art and Craft in Chandigarh was founded by the Punjab Government on 16th August 1951. It is one of the best colleges of Fine Arts in India and was first established as Govt. School of Art and Crafts at Shimla. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) :
The minimum qualification for admission to all the courses is a passing certificate in the 12th (10+2) Examination or any other examination recognized by the Syndicate of the Panjab University as equivalent with a minimum of 40 per cent marks (35 per cent in case of SC/ST and PWD candidates)
Candidates obtaining 40 per cent aggregate marks (in case of SC/ST and PWD 35%) in the aptitude test i.e. ‘Object Drawing’, ‘Composition’ and ‘General Knowledge’ conducted by the college, will qualify for the admission.
