Sainik Schools Admission Notice 2024 – Class VI and Class IX

Introduction

Sainik Schools across the country, now totalling 33 with the approval of 18 new schools by the Central Government, invite applications for admission to Class VI and Class IX. The admission process is based on the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE).

About Sainik Schools:

Sainik Schools, under the Sainik Schools Society (SSS), are English medium residential schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). These schools, functioning under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, prepare Cadets for entry into prestigious institutions like the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and other Training Academies for officers.

 Selection Procedure:

• Final selection is based on school-wise, class-wise, and category-wise rank in the AISSEE 2024.
• Medical fitness, approved by competent Medical authorities, is a crucial criterion.
• Verification of original documents is part of the selection process.

Eligibility Criteria:

• For Class VI: Candidates should be between 10 and 12 years as of March 31, 2024.
• Admission for Girls is open for Class VI with the same age criteria as boys.
• For Class IX: Candidates should be between 13 and 15 years as of March 31, 2024.
• Admission to Class IX is open for girls.

Important Dates:

• Last date for online application: December 16, 2023
• Examination date: January 21, 2024
