National Law University Delhi Announces Admission for 2024-25 Academic Year

The National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) has unveiled its admission schedule for the academic year 2024-25. As a premier institution established in 2008 through Act No. 1 of 2008, NLU Delhi has been consistently recognized for its exceptional legal education and research initiatives. The university is now inviting online applications for its esteemed B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. programs. Prospective candidates are encouraged to take note of the following key dates and eligibility criteria.

Application Timeline:

  • Last Date for Submission of Applications (Online): Monday, November 13, 2023
  • Issue of Admit Card (Online): Monday, November 20, 2023
  • Date of AILET (Offline Exam): Sunday, December 10, 2023 (11.00 AM - 1.00 PM)

B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) [Five-Year Programme]:

  • Eligibility: Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 system) or equivalent with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities).
  • Candidates appearing for the 12th standard annual examination in 2024 are eligible to apply.
  • Total Seats: 110+10 (110 seats on AILET merit; 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO for direct admission on merit).
  • Additional Supernumerary Seats: One seat for Kashmiri Migrants and two seats for residents of Jammu & Kashmir.

LL.M. [One Year Programme]:

  • Eligibility: LL.B. or equivalent law degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities).
  • Candidates appearing for the final year LL.B. annual examination in 2024 are eligible to apply.
  • Total Seats: 70+10 (70 seats on AILET merit; 5 seats each for Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO for direct admission on merit).
  • Additional Supernumerary Seats: One seat for Kashmiri Migrants.

Ph.D. Programme: Ph.D. in Law:

  • Eligibility: LL.M. or equivalent law degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBCs non-creamy layer/Differently Abled/Economically Weaker Section).
  • Total Seats: 25+2 (UGC-JRF: 5 seats, AILET Merit -16 seats, Fellowship through AILET Merit -4 seats, and Foreign Nationals-2 Seats).

Ph.D. in Social Sciences (Political Science, Sociology, Criminology, Economics, and English):

  • Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in relevant Social Sciences or humanities with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBCs non-creamy layer/Differently Abled/Economically Weaker Section).
  • Total Seats: 4 (UGC JRF, AILET, Foreign Nationals, Fellowships).

Test Cities:

The AILET-2024 exam will be conducted across several cities including Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and more. Test city allotment is based on candidate preferences.

Online Application Fee:

Interested candidates can apply online by paying an application fee of Rs.3500/- (Rs.1500/- for SC/ST and PwD candidates). BPL applicants of SC/ST category are exempted from the application fee.
