Cochin Shipyard has invited applications from engineering graduates for the Graduate Marine Engineering Course. The company specializes in the construction and repair of commercial and military vessels and is owned by the Government of India. It is listed on the BSE and NSE stock exchanges.
The Graduate Marine Engineering Course is a fully residential program that spans 12 months. It is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Govt. of India. The medium of instruction is English, and the course covers classroom instructions, laboratory work, workshop practices, and afloat training. The curriculum is in accordance with the DGS-approved syllabus, which aligns with the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping (STCW) as amended by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
To be eligible for the course, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Stream of Engineering, Naval Architecture Stream of Engineering, or B. Tech in Marine Engineering approved by AICTE/UGC.
- Minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying degree.
- The candidate must be in sound health and provide a Medical Fitness Certificate from a DG Shipping-approved medical practitioner in the specified format.
-The Candidate should also have a minimum of 50% of marks in the English language in any of the following Examinations Class – Xth/ XIIth, Diploma and Degree
