Admission Update: Relaxation in Eligibility Criteria for B.Arch Admissions for 2023-24

With the permission of the Central Government, the Council of Architecture has announced a noteworthy relaxation in the eligibility criteria for admission to the 5-year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program for the academic year 2023-24.

Amended Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Educational Qualifications:

    • No candidate shall be admitted to the architecture course unless they have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Additionally, candidates must have studied one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Technical Vocational Subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, or Business Studies.
    • A minimum aggregate score of at least 45% in the qualifying examination is required.
    • Alternatively, candidates who have passed the 10+3 diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and achieved a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate are eligible.
  2. Aptitude Test:

    • All candidates must qualify in an aptitude test in architecture, which can be either conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) through JEE or the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

In light of this amended eligibility, the Council of Architecture has decided to conduct the 4th NATA examination on September 17, 2023. Candidates who successfully clear the NATA test will become eligible for admission to the B.Arch degree program against the vacant or unfilled seats available at various institutions.

This relaxation in eligibility criteria aims to expand opportunities for aspiring architects and ensure a broader pool of talent can pursue a career in architecture.
